McLemore Songwriters Series: Live Music Events to Remember

The 2023 McLemore Songwriters Series features an impressive lineup of award-winning artists collaborating with some of the biggest names in music. You'll hear the stories behind the songs, their original compositions and covers of popular hits. These intimate and interactive music performances allow you to connect with the artists and other music lovers in a friendly  and casual atmosphere.

The series started in May and continues through October, with each event occurring on a Thursday night. Patrick Davis & Lauren Jenkins Davis, a husband-and-wife duo who've written songs for artists like Lady A, Darius Rucker, Jewel and Randy Houser, kicked off the 2023 Songwriter Series. Patrick is also the founder of Songwriters in Paradise, a festival that brings together top songwriters in exotic locations. Lauren is an acclaimed singer-songwriter and actress who starred in the CMT series "Nashville."

On June 8th, attendees heard the blissful sounds of Gabe Dixon, a piano virtuoso and singer-songwriter who's worked with Paul McCartney, Alison Krauss, O.A.R., Supertramp and more. His songs have been featured in movies like "The Proposal" and "He's Just Not That Into You."

A trio of talented female artists - Mary Gauthier, Leah Blevins and Heather Morgan - shared the McLemore Songwriters Series stage on July 20th. Gauthier is a Grammy-nominated Americana artist who has written songs for Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw, Bettye LaVette and others. Blevins is a rising star from Kentucky who blends country, soul, and rock in her powerful vocals. Morgan is a hit songwriter who has penned songs for Keith Urban, Brett Eldredge, Kenny Chesney and more.

As of this writing, three McLemore Songwriters Series events remain on the 2023 calendar. On August 10, Tim Nichols, one of the most successful songwriters in Nashville, visits the club and community. This Tennessee music genius has written over 40 chart-topping hits for artists like, Alan Jackson, Faith Hill, Dustin Lynch and more. He won a Grammy for co-writing "Live Like You Were Dying" for Tim McGraw.

The soulful sounds of David Ryan Harris and Chris Stills will charm the crowd on Sept. 14. Harris is a singer-songwriter and guitarist who has toured with John Mayer, Dave Matthews Band, Santana and more. Stills is a singer-songwriter and actor who is the son of legendary musicians Stephen Stills and Veronique Sanson. He has released several solo albums and collaborated with artists like Ryan Adams, Don Was, Leona Lewis and more.

The series wraps up on Oct. 12 with Marc Broussard, a Louisiana native who blends blues, soul, rock and pop in his distinctive style. Broussard has performed live on shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Tonight Show.

The McLemore Songwriters Series is a must-see event for any music lover, and kicks off at 7:30 p.m. However, you can arrive early to enjoy dinner at The Creag restaurant. Can't get a reservation? No problem. Every concert features a chef's special "picnic dinner" option for dining al fresco before the concert begins.
