As the newly appointed Managing Director of Cloudland at McLemore Resort, Mike Burton brings a rich tapestry of experience and accolades from his extensive career in the hospitality industry. 

Having served in managing director roles at prestigious hotels across the country, including The Westin Jackson in Mississippi and The Westin Chicago Northwest, Burton's expertise spans from operational excellence to delivering exceptional customer service. His background as a culinary arts student in Michigan and a chef at Gina’s By The Sea in Massachusetts contributes to a holistic understanding of hospitality, emphasized by his keen belief in consistent, exceptional customer service. 

Burton's prior management roles have led hotels to receive numerous industry awards and accolades, setting a high bar for Cloudland's future. His vision for Cloudland at McLemore Resort is to offer an unmatched golf destination coupled with an elevated resort experience, aiming to set a new standard for luxury hospitality in 2024.

Crafting Culinary Masterpieces: Executive Chef Dustin Willett

Executive Chef Dustin Willett has been appointed at the helm of the culinary experience at Cloudland at McLemore Resort.

With over two decades of experience within the culinary and hospitality industries, Willett brings a wealth of knowledge and creativity to Cloudland. He oversees the resort's three distinctive restaurants – Croft, Auld Alliance and the Sky Bar – injecting them with his unique flair that marries French and Scottish themes with Southern influences, deeply rooted in the resort's locale. 

His journey has taken him from the kitchens of the Brown Hotel in Louisville, Ky., to internationally renowned establishments like the Four Seasons Hotel and Resorts. As the opening chef at Cloudland, Willett is not only excited about showcasing his culinary prowess but also about the opportunity to create memorable dining experiences inspired by the natural beauty of Lookout Mountain and surrounding areas. 

Navigating Success: Hotel General Manager Nick Lorusso

Nick Lorusso brings a rich tapestry of leadership and management experience to his role as General Manager at Cloudland. His career across various states in the U.S. as a general manager, notably with the Hilton brand, distinguishes him in the hospitality industry. 

With an impressive tenure at the 393-room Hilton Hartford in Hartford, Conn., Lorusso has been instrumental in steering hotel operations, sales and administration, and overseeing more than 200 associates at the property. This role followed his successful position as Director of Operations at the Marriott Hartford Downtown, showcasing his versatility and leadership across major hotel brands.

By leveraging his vast experience and innovative approach, Lorusso is poised to ensure that Cloudland not only achieves but surpasses its goal of offering guests an unparalleled blend of high-touch service and luxury amenities. His expertise, honed through years of leadership roles in the hotel industry, will be instrumental in forging a bright future for Cloudland at McLemore Resort, setting a new standard for hospitality excellence in the Southeast.
